International Baccalaureate Programme

IB Diploma Programme at ALEV Schools

Private ALEV Schools were established in 1998 by the Foundation of the Graduates of Austrian High School (Avusturya Liseliler Vakfı) that has adopted the principle of raising students that are capable of using the target languages of German and English as well as Turkish in accordance with the European Union language standards; have developed their social, cultural, sportive and artistic skills in addition to their academic knowledge; embrace the universal values and the principles and reforms of Atatürk; and have the competencies required by the contemporary information society; and providing education meeting international quality norms.

In this context, our goal at our ALEV High School is to crown out students’ success with an internationally acceptable diploma while preparing them for the higher education institutions located both in our country and in German- or English-speaking countries. This opportunity is provided through the IB Diploma Programme offered.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end, the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education programs and rigorous assessments.

The programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners understanding that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The IB Diploma Programme is a programme intended for students aged 16-19. The IBDP is recognized by many renowned universities located in the countries such as Austria, Germany, the USA and the United Kingdom. The IB Diploma was accepted as a diploma for admission to universities such as Matura as stated in the Official Gazette published in Austria on 6 November 2015.

Having developed and implemented the necessary policies and action plans in order to become an IB World School, our school was accredited by the IB Organization in April 2016 following the related audit performed.

Having reinforced their information and knowledge that they have gained from the trainings they attended at home and abroad, our IBDP teachers teach the IBDP subjects taught at the 11th and 12th grades in Turkish, German and English languages in accordance with their two-year study programmes that they have developed.

The students of ALEV Schools that have adopted the IB Organization’s philosophy of “EDUCATION for a better world” will continue their education process to take their places in the globalizing world with their internationally-recognized diplomas and the high-quality education that they receive.
